APP DEVELOPMENT AND DIGITAL CREATION
During my time at University, I had the incredible opportunity to work on a project brief set out by 383 for LEGOLAND. The challenge was to explore how digital tools could enhance the entire visitor experience, from the initial excitement of booking tickets to the in-park journey and beyond. For my approach, I focused on improving the existing LEGOLAND app and addressing a common pain point shared by many visitors — losing the photos taken during their visit.
Through research, I found that many guests were frustrated by not being able to easily access or save their ride photos, a key memento of their experience. I saw this as an opportunity to create a meaningful solution that could not only solve the problem but also enhance the overall LEGOLAND experience. I designed a system where all photos could be automatically stored within the app through a QR code. After taking a photo on a ride, visitors could simply scan their QR code at a kiosk to have their image directly downloaded to the app, ensuring they never lost their precious memories.
In addition to this, I wanted to help LEGOLAND promote its new digital photo pass service. To do this, I designed a range of merchandise products that could feature selected photos as personalized keepsakes. These items included a custom postcard with the image, ride name, and theme; an eco-friendly badge; and a reusable cup. These designs aimed to not only capture memories in a physical form but also encourage guests to share and treasure their LEGOLAND experience long after their visit.
This project not only allowed me to apply my design and digital skills but also highlighted the importance of understanding user needs and creating solutions that elevate a brand’s customer experience.
